WRGB: Fundraiser for Children in Crisis Goes Virtual

July 19, 2020 — Berkshire Farm Center is going virtual with their fundraising events for the rest of this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Their first virtual event – Fostering Hope 5K/10K Run/Walk is happening later this month. You can register here now.

This virtual event is one that anyone, anywhere may participate in to participate in support of children and families across New York State who have been disproportionately affected by the coronavirus. Earlier this week Heather Kovar sat down with Brian Parchesky, CEO of Berkshire Farm Center to learn more about this event.

“These are challenging times with all in-person fundraising events being cancelled for everyone’s safety, but we are excited and determined to rise to the challenge by shifting to virtual events that still allow people to support our work on behalf of children and families,” said Brian Parchesky, President and CEO of Berkshire Farm Center. “Running and walking have both physical and mental benefits during times of stress and uncertainty. I hope people join us for this opportunity to get out in the fresh air to exercise for an important cause.”

Berkshire Farm Center was founded in 1886 with a mission of strengthening children and families so they can live safely, independently and productively within their home communities. Today, Berkshire provides over 100 programs for children and families all across New York State, serving over 2,000 children and families every day.
