Every May is Foster Care Awareness Month Go Purple for Kids in Foster Care

It is a time when we bring awareness to the critical need for foster families across New York State.

Individuals, groups and businesses can show support and help bring awareness by pledging to

Go Purple for Kids in Foster Care throughout the month of May!

Be creative – have a purple dress down day, wear purple hats, bake purple cupcakes, or find any other creative way to Go Purple and help us build awareness of this important need.

Did you know? 17,000 kids in foster care across NYS
Did you know? 69 kids come into foster care everyday
Did you know? 8,000 children and their families served across NYS A simple, stylized icon of a family with two adults and one child, all connected by holding hands, depicted in pink lines.

When you make a commitment to Go Purple for Kids in Foster Care, we encourage you to print our flyer and display it all month long or on a day you choose, to help others understand why you are wearing purple.

Be creative and let your purple help shine a light on the need for foster parents across NYS! Together, we can bring awareness and hopefully encourage others to learn more about becoming a foster parent.
